Hostages were free at last! None of them had casualties and all were returned to the comfort of their homelands with their families.

June 24 - 1 Malaysian freed while Evangelist Almeda fasted for the rescue mission.

July 14 - Another Malaysian freed.

The Evangelist Wilde Almeda and prayer warriors' graceful exit from the non-stop bombardment of bullets and bombs for more than 2 weeks came as an amazing surprise to all. The chances of escaping tha all-out air and land strike by the military aimed to "annihilate the Abu Sayyaf" was so remote, as bombs exploded in the tracks they trekked, allegedly destroying many lives and properties.

The complete number of the evangelist's group, all alive without any wound — not even a tiny scratch from bullets and shrapnel, displays the perfectness of GOD's miracle for the world to witness.

Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon ... against thee shall prosper ..."

Psalms 91:7 "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."

Luke 10:19 "Behold I give unto you power ... over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Psalms 91:14-16 "Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him ... I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation."

Assistant Pastor Lina Almeda led a peaceful rally together with the JMC flock before the Senate building expressing the need for a halt on the military assault to avoid bloodshed and for peaceful negotiations to continue. However, the war went on.

The assistant pastor declared a nationwide JMC fasting and overnight prayer everyday for the protection of civilians, government soldiers, remaining hostages, Abu Sayyaf members, and Evangelist Almeda's group.

The starved and dehydrated body of the evangelist succumbed to the cold Talipao weather and could pass away anytime.

Acts 21:13 " ...I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die... for the name of the LORD JESUS."

Romans 8:36 " ...For thy name sake we are killed all the day long; ...as sheep for the slaughter."

Evangelist Almeda's body weakened under the unfriendly weather conditions in Talipao and refused medical treatment offered by the ASG.

Assistant Pastor Lina Almeda, the evangelist's loving wife, rushed to Talipao, Sulu to minister to her dying husband and, come what may, join him to suffer for the sake of the mission. At the foot of the mountain, before she could ascend to the ASG camp, the evangelist was miraculously revived and instructed her via satellite phone to return to Manila immediately and take care of the children and the church.

Psalms 40:8 "I delight to do Thy will, o my GOD: yea, Thy law is within my heart."

Millions witness to have experienced the great miracles of GOD in the JMCIM. Incurable sicknesses and infirmities have been healed without the use of medicine but by faith in the name of JESUS, to which even doctors attest, proven by documentary evidences. Divine healing of cancers, diabetes, dumbness, mental disorders, tuberculosis, migraine, leprosy, aids, asthma, hepatitis, nervous breakdown, and more have been recorded. 3 John 2 "Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

Social liabilities, the so-called outlaws and bad guys — hardcore communists, rebels, terrorists, abusive military men, mercenaries, holduppers, kidnappers, snatchers, robbers, thieves, gangsters and other hardened criminals — tamed by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, have surrendered their lives to the LORD and are now law-abiding, peace-loving and responsible citizens.

Large scale onslaught of communism, terrorism and criminality have been prevented through relentless crusades with prayer and fasting.

Christians on fire serving the LORD have time and again proved to be invulnerable to guns and other deadly weapons, claiming fulfillment of Isaiah 54:17 —

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the LORD."

The dead being raised back to life have been common in the JMCIM circle, proving that GOD's word is never outdated:

Matthew 10:7 and 8 "And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."

Aborted rape cases have been reported and documented — sisters have been saved by forceful shouts of rebuke in the name of JESUS, commanding the rapist to either freeze or flee. Likewise, killers, snatchers, holduppers, robbers, etc. had better not have to do with the children of GOD or they might end up in the stocks or running away in consternation, or even dying by GOD's vengeance. No weapons for self-defense used, not even martial arts, but by the powerful name of JESUS.

In the name of JESUS, demon-possessed individuals are delivered from legions of devils; attacking dogs turn back scampering for refuge; fiery serpents freeze and die; rabies, snake bites, scorpion stings are no hurt at all; Christians are saved from car accidents, fire, shipwreck, flood, etc. Through the TV programs of the JMCIM, by touching the TV screen as point of contact, televiewers could simultaneously claim GOD's miracles in one time alone right in the privacy of their homes.

The faithful couple was blessed with 12 lovely children endowed with exceptional talents especially in Gospel music — Rachel, Annaliza, Leah, Divine Grace, Wilde James, Esther, Faith, Joy, Rebecca, Ruth, Elizabeth, and Charity Anne. But two of their precious siblings, Divine Grace and Rebecca, went to be with the LORD. A very grievous part in more than fifteen years of difficult testing and trials, reminiscent of Job's experience. Through persecutions, financial want, worldly temptations, threat of sickness, starvation and even death, they remained steadfast in faith and never compromised the Truth. The hand of GOD was mightily guiding them through spiritual battles, arming them with weapons needed to gain the victory: steadfast prayer with praise and worship of 14 hours or more daily, continual study and meditation on the Holy Scriptures, kneeling hours on end interceding for the Church and for the salvation of the lost, constant fasts reaching 40 and even up to 93 days, repeated through the years (let alone the daily fasts when longer fasts were broken), and holding evangelistic crusades. They completely depended on faith for GOD to supply all the needs of GOD's work, never begging for financial support from any person or institution.

Some of the beloved Almeda children, children-in-law, and grandchildren during the celebration of the victorious Talipao Peace Mission anniversary at the Amoranto Sports Complex on October 3, 2004.

Their hearts continually throbbed for the cries of the poor, the needful and the lost, burdened for others to receive GOD's mercy. They rejoiced to see repentant souls humbling themselves before GOD more than anything else. This irresistible force constrained them to embrace this way of life through the years of tears and pain, obeying the Spirit's leading.

In one occasion, when the couple felt the hardest trial they had, thinking they could not take it anymore, and the road ahead seemed to grow wearier and not a flicker of light shone, they asked GOD, after praying for several hours, if they will continue with their Ministry or just work for money and financially support the Church. The LORD spoke through the Bible, saying:

2 Timothy 4:2-5 "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."

Rejoicing for GOD's message confirming their call once more, they went on serving GOD even more fervently. Nothing held them back from doing GOD's will and boldly fought satan all the way. They obeyed GOD with fear and trembling, seeking only the things that please Him.

It was soon revealed by the Holy Spirit that the reason why the couple had to go through years of difficult trials between life and death was that GOD was accumulating the anointing that would earn for themselves GOD's trust and empowerment to fulfill the fivefold ministry of the Church: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher, for the perfecting of the saints.

Ephesians 4:11-13 "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of CHRIST: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of GOD, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of CHRIST."

They were being prepared by GOD for the greatest task ahead — to build and lead GOD's army, the Church, to fight all the powers of hell and give the last fatal blow to pull down satan's stronghold.

The survival of Evangelist Wilde E. Almeda and Asstant Pastor Lina C. Almeda in the spiritual arena brought about immense results for the whole world to profit from. The hand of GOD was moved, the Spirit's power loosed, to heal incurable sicknesses, infirmities and diseases, to convert stone-hearted sinners to become saints, to work miracles beyond human comprehension, defying the course of nature. The LORD JESUS promised these, and even more:

John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father."

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Hailing from the province of Surigao Sur, the divine call to God's service came to a young man named WILDE E. ALMEDA, with newly wedded wife, LINA, in the late 1960s. Later to rise as the Philippines' leading Evangelist-Pastor, Wilde (pronounced as "Weeldee") was then afflicted with an acute insomnia owing to years of hard work in political campaigning for power and fortune.

Hopeless through medical cure, the menacing disease caused him to be suicidal, until one day, a Christian shared to him the Word of GOD. He gave his heart to JESUS and instantly got healed of the curse he suffered for 6 long years. He then realized that the Gospel is true and that GOD answers prayer. From a former religious fanatic, womanizer and gambler, he was converted to true Christianity, and completely gave up his life of sin.

In obedience to GOD's call, the young couple started to embark on a spiritual journey, leaving behind their affluent political life which promised more wealth and social status, and gave up even all their source of livelihood — the gold and silver mining business, acres of fish pond and coconut plantation — which would have soon earned millions of money daily, choosing rather to follow the footsteps of the LORD JESUS in living an austere life, fully consecrated and dedicated to GOD.

JESUS MIRACLE CRUSADE AND THE JESUS CHURCH

In the worst of times when the immorality of man has equaled that of beasts, and spirituality has been reduced to confusion by the craftiness of Satan; when man's inventions and technological achievements threaten himself to extinction, and the universe ushers into self-destruction; when all attempts to stop criminality and war have failed, and when every knowledge of GOD is supposed as a vain escape from reality by the foolest of fools; through it all, the true Church of the Living God has come out triumphant! The LORD GOD has given full authority to His Church to overcome all the power of darkness — hope still shines after all!

Matthew 16:18 "... upon this rock I will build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

THE JMCIM

YEAR 2000 MINDANAO CRISIS HEIGHTENS

Abu Sayyaf atrocities and terrorism became prime menace in the country. No effective solution seen. The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is the most notorious Muslim bandit group composed of Lost Command units or factions whose terroristic activities are condemned even by fellow Muslims. They are more fierce and ruthless than the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).

More and more casualties — a hostage priest died a cruel death in the hands of the Abu Sayyaf due to a military rescue attempt. Innocent civilians were kidnapped, robbed, maltreated, and women were raped and killed. Lives and properties destroyed.

Chaos, poverty, confusion, fear, and mourning reign. Where is peace?

Revelation 12:12 "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth ... for the devil is come down unto you having great wrath ..."

— Abu Sayyaf bandits kidnapped 9 Malaysians, 3 Germans, 2 French, 2 South Africans, 2 Finns, 2 Filipinos, and 1 Lebanese.

— Slow negotiations without results endangered the lives of the hostages who were getting sick and some are thinking of committing suicide.

— An attempt to rescue the hostages through military operation was unsuccessful; angered kidnappers could exterminate their captives anytime.

Sipadan hostages suffered hellish conditions in the hands of the ASG.
German hostage, Renate Wallert, struggled to cope with the situation despite her illness.
Government Chief Negotiator Robert Aventajado regretted the 'unsuccessful mission' to free the foreign hostages following his return from Jolo, Sulu.

THE MANY FACES OF DEATH AND DANGER IN THE ABU SAYYAF CAMP

The Abu Sayyaf bandits could behead, kill or torture any stranger in their territory anytime with all the weapons they have. Other bloodthirsty ASG factions could come along and liquidate any Christian. One could die of starvation and thirst or disease or lose sanity due to all the horrible and extremely adverse jungle conditions put together.

However, the evangelist and prayer warriors survived the odds.

TRIUMPHANT ENTRY INTO THE ABU SAYYAF STRONGHOLD

Evangelist Almeda and 12 prayer warriors were readily welcomed by Commanders Robot and Susukan and the rest of the kidnapper. A crusade was successfully held. The evangelist and prayer warriors were later mistaken to be military spies and would have been killed but by the power of GOD, the bandits did not succeed!

The ASG, touched by GOD through the prayer and fasting of the evangelist's group, signed a press release statement promising the release of the Sipadan hostages.

	Renate Wallert, the sick German hostage, was the first European to be freed by the ASG following the release of their letter expressing their intent to let go of the hostages because of the prayer and fasting of Evangelist Almeda and the prayer warriors.

Remembering the Past: In a quick interview, Mrs. Renate Wallert expressed her gratitude and said, "The Christians up there are working very hard for the release of the hostages."

Other hostages, aside from the Sipadan captives, who were also abducted during the JMC peace mission were also safely released by the ASG!

Assistant Pastor Lina Almeda, while her loving husband, Evangelist Almeda, was away for the most dangerous mission, faced the greatest trial of the Church. She endured the cold fierceness of the media which became the instrument of detractors to take advantage of the weakened condition of the evangelist and the prolonged duration of the peace mission to pick on the JMC believers. Almost all newspapers, radio, and T.V. news carried exaggerated, sensationalized, unconfirmed and false reports that courted a nationwide persecution in an attempt to destroy the sanctity of GOD's peace mission. However, the strength and wisdom from above enabled the assistant pastor to boldly stand and fight for the truth and righteousness through the Holy Scriptures and lead the JMC flock through the most difficult times.

Matthew 5:11 "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake."

1 Peter 3:15-17 "... ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of GOD be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing."

Romans 10:11 "For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

1 Pet 4:14-16 "If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of GOD resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify GOD on this behalf."

Sensationalized and exaggerated false reports proliferated nationwide by the media against Evangelist Almeda and the 12 prayer warriors who accompanied him to the ASG camp.

1 John 5:4 "... this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

Live T.V. and radio interviews requested by reporters, newscasters, and commentators were welcomed by the assistant pastor as she enlightened the minds of those who were blinded by the loud but partial view of detractors.
